WHO WE ARE

The GW Science Policy Hub (aka the GW Sci Pol Hub) was founded in Fall 2019 and aims to bridge the gap between science and policy in our nation's capital. Our main goals are to foster an environment of learning and collaboration for graduate students and postdocs interested in science policy, advocacy, and outreach, as well as to increase scientific literacy in the community by engaging scientists in policy discussions. Through various professional, social, and educational events, we strive to expose scientists to the world of science policy and help them build the skills necessary to succeed in their post graduate endeavors.

WHAT WE DO

As an official chapter of the National Science Policy Network (NSPN), our members have participated in several NSPN-hosted events such as the 2020 Memo Writing Competition and the 2020 Hands-On Science Policy Skill Building Workshop. We actively work with the GW Office of Government Relations and the GW Science and Technology Policy Society to connect academic scientists with local and federal policy. Follow us on Twitter @GW_SciPolHub to stay up-to-date with the latest happenings.
