Professional Development Workshop with Dr. Sandeep Dayal

Dr. Sandeep Dayal is a Health Science Policy Analyst in the Office of Scientific Program and Policy Analysis at the National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)—an Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  In this role, Dr. Dayal leads a wide range of efforts critical to NIDDK’s administration, such as managing the development of the Institute’s strategic plan and a variety of reports; preparing materials for Congressional appropriations hearings and other inquiries from Congress; tracking legislation related to NIDDK and its diseases; and serving as the NIDDK representative on trans-NIH committees.  Prior to his current position, Dr. Dayal conducted postdoctoral research at the NIH after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.  Throughout his training, Dr. Dayal engaged in numerous leadership and other activities outside of the laboratory, including serving as President of the Graduate Student Association, organizing…
